The Book “Step by Step Pediatric Echocardiography” clarifies in insight about the Pediatric Echocardiography and the advancement of technology. Pediatric echocardiography technique is a simple, noninvasive and inexpensive technique that provides a correct hemodynamic status of the heart, thereby reducing the requirement of cardiac catheterization. Four-dimensional echocardiography has been introduced that has improved the technique to identify congenital or acquired heart disease. Cardiac catheterization is used for the more complex cardiac conditions, and those requiring interventions and surgery. The book explains the details about the position of the patient and transducer, M-Mode and Doppler examination, and the echocardiographic evaluation of cardiac chambers left ventricle. It describes acyanotic congenital heart disease, cyanotic heart disease, acquired valvular disease, cardiac infections, and diseases of myocardium. Chapters also incorporate sections on fetal echocardiography, neonatal echocardiography and echocardiography in intensive care unit. It also summarizes simple, noninvasive and inexpensive technique which provides a correct hemodynamic status of the heart and introduction of new techniques to identify congenital or acquired heart disease. Monitoring critically ill patients has proved advantageous by introducing the functional Echocardiography.
